About JAMAICA INTERNATIONAL MUA AWARDS™
OUR PURPOSE
Established December 13, 2011, under the testimony of Mr. Sibert Gordon - Justice of the Peace, Winette O'Hara - General Secretary and Chairman & Chief Executive Director - Husine Newby the Jamaica MUA Awards™ was officially signed into existence. Boasting over (22) award categories, our core mandate is to highlight/award local, regional, and international trailblazers and budding talents in the make-up industry. We celebrate makeup artists for their contribution to the beauty industry as well as the younger generation of make-up enthusiasts who are breaking new ground and pushing the boundaries in the make-up profession.
JIMUA Awards™ promotes interests in industry growth, education, and professional development. Through our association and partnership with the "B3Initiative" and the WINSOR Academy, we ensure a strong presence in educational growth within the sector. We are an international brand with a positioning that fosters global industry exchange which solidifies us as a key tourism product.
The awards are also to acknowledge the work of the local make-up brands, retailers, and all other industry players in supporting the make-up artists to develop the make-up industry in Jamaica.
The Jamaica International Make-up Awards follows prior initiatives organized to create a platform for make-up artists and make-up brands among others to come together to promote the make-up Industry.
Internationally, we have formed a conglomerate that embodies a science not driven by fortuitous events, but by an intentional concept that speaks industry proliferation.

OUR MISSION

To highlight the beauty industry’s make-up professionals locally, regionally, and internationally while protecting, promoting, and endorsing career interests as we encourage and reinforce the importance of each make-up artist.
To create a continuous platform for new and upcoming make-up artists to share, showcase, strengthen, and sharpen their knowledge and experience(s).
To build an empire awards body that offers scholarships to deserving practitioners.
To create a network for all make-up artists both (professionals and asmpiring MUAs) to start productive conversations and share knowledge and business ideas on a single platform.
To create, build, and maintain an awards franchise known for recognizing and highlighting the industry's best make-up progenitors thereby assisting in the positive development of the beauty sector both local and internation respectively.
To provide a unique and unforgettable experience for all attendees.
To bring together like-minded individuals to celebrate and enjoy the best in beauty.

The JIMUA Awards™ Expo is our premium exhibition initiative that is designed to facilitate the advertising of its sponsors, exhibitors, and partner businesses. A one-day business marketing and prospect-generating event gives each exhibitor the ability to conduct business with existing customers, lead generation, and pitch to new prospects.
Post our 2016 inaugural staging, the JIMUA Awards™ Expo has grown into our single most important networking, learning, sharing, motivating, and business-to-consumer event.
